Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Luke Marvin ("Keeps," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using Keeps, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. The service

Keeps is a private app for remembering details about the people in your life. Core features are free; some features require a paid purchase or subscription, described in Section 2.

Some Keeps features are powered by artificial intelligence. AI-generated content can be imperfect or inaccurate, so use your own judgment before relying on it. Content involved in these features is processed by our AI provider solely to deliver the feature, as described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Purchases and subscriptions

All payments are processed by Apple through its in-app purchase system — we never see or store your card number or billing details. We use RevenueCat to keep track of your purchase status so the app knows which features to unlock.

Keeps Pro and Keeps Premium are auto-renewing subscription options. It renews automatically at the price shown at purchase unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel it anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting the app — or even deleting your Keeps account — does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancellation happens through Apple.

Refunds are handled by Apple under its App Store terms; you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If subscription pricing changes, existing subscribers will be notified in accordance with Apple's rules before a new price takes effect.

3. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Keeps. You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your sign-in credentials secure — you're responsible for activity that happens under your account. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us right away.

4. Your content

You own everything you create in Keeps. You grant us only the limited license needed to store your content, back it up, and display it to you — that is the license's entire purpose. We don't acquire any right to share, publish, sell, or train AI models on your content.

Keeps lets you record information about other people. You are solely responsible for what you record. You agree to use Keeps for personal, lawful purposes, and not to record or use information about any person in order to harass, stalk, threaten, or harm them, or in violation of any law.

You can stop using Keeps anytime, and you can permanently delete your account and all your data from Settings → Delete Account inside the app (note that deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription — see Section 2). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections 4, 7, 8, and 9 survive termination.

7. Disclaimers

Keeps is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We work hard to keep the service reliable, but we can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Please keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Keeps. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

10. Apple

Because Keeps is distributed through the App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Keeps and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also comply with Apple's App Store Terms of Service.

11. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
